My name is Muhammad Waqas. I did my BE(I.T) (Major in Embedded Systems) from University of Engineering &Technology, Taxila, Pakistan. After my Bachelors i did MS in Electrical Engineering (Major in Telecomm, Software Defined Radio) from Bahria University, Islamabad, Pakistan with GPA 3.6/4.00 (89%, Distinction Cum Laude). I Completed my MS with published co-authored journal article(ASIP Based Demapper for Future Wireless Communication) in IEEE Access and with second as under review in IEEE Design and Test (Publications are enlisted in my C.V).
I also have previous experience on digital communication systems e.g DVB-T, DVBT-2 and LTE communication standards, low complexity demapping algorithms, Encoding/ Viterbi Decoding/BCJR Decoding and their coding in different programming languages including LabVIEW/LabVIEW FPGA, C/C++HDLs and published my work in I.F Journal. Some of my relevant projects are enlisted below:
1- Thesis "Flexible Implementation of Multi-Standard Demaper using LabVIEW FPGA", from this thesis we published one journal article as co-author with my supervisor in IEEE Access and one is under review in IEEE Design and Test .
2-FPGA Based 8 bit processor.
3-Viterbi and MAP Decoder of LTE Encoder in C & FPGA (Course project in Software Defined Radio course).
4-OFDM Transceiver implementation on NI USRP RIO.
Here in Pakistan i worked in R&D based organization (a National level Institute of Avionics & Aeronautics) for 6 years Institute of Avionics & Aeronautics as Application Engineer and Manager R&D. Now a days i am incharge Data Acquisition and Signal Processing group at private company. Details of projects accomplished by me are mentioned in attached C.V. I have worked on different programming languages like HDLs,C/C++ and Graphical Programming(LabVIEW/ LabVIEW FPGA) for rapid prototyping.
Also my hobby is reading different articles and their implementation in C/C++ and LabVIEW.
Sir, My interested domains in which i want to pursue PhD are:
1- Adv. Digital Communication(Forward Error Correction Techniques, Iterative decoding, Rotated Cyclic Q delayed Modulation, Low Complex Demapping Techniques)............... I have Good knowledge in this field.
2- Flexible Software Defined Radio( i also have good knowledge in this domain)
3- Secure Communication, Frequency Hopping (have basic idea of frequency hopping).
4- MIMO (Read MIMOs in Wireless communication techniques and fascinated toward MIMOs).
